Unit Reports

On winning her first singles match of the European Championships Munich 2022:
"It was difficult for me. I was very nervous before my first singles match. I don't know why, maybe because I hadn't played a lot of matches recently. I think we didn't prepare very well.
"Because of the war we cannot practise normally so a lot of times I didn't practise because I stayed at home with my family. Now they are in Ukraine and sometimes it is difficult because I could read some bad news before the match, so I try not to read anything, because I need to concentrate, but it's really, really hard to play now. But I am very happy that I won this match.
"I tried to do everything that I can. I also had some mistakes so maybe I need to prepare a little better before this match."

On what she needs to improve going forward in the singles tournament:
"I need to concentrate more and calm down a little bit before the match, because I was really nervous. Then I need to practise my serve, my receives, my short game – I need to practise that all the time."
