Unit Reports

On losing the semifinal 3-1:
"The first match (game) was very good. It's a shame. It's better not talking too much."

On what changed after the they won the first set:
"I don't remember."

On opponents Elizabeta Samara (ROU) and Andreea Dragoman (ROU):
"They played good. They are good players, they played really good, they are fighting. Congratulations for them. It is good for them to win. They played better than us. It can happen, it's sport."

On her and Sarah De Nutte's (LUX) doubles tournament:
"We enjoy the way we are playing although sometimes it’s up and down, but that’s the sport’s attractive point. That’s what makes the sport exciting. We tried our best so we are happy with this."

On the prospect of coming back to win at another major tournaments, aged 59:
"Yes, I am still very young, no worries."
On what she and Andreea Dragoman (ROU) did to come back after losing the first game 11-6:
"Somehow we had a chance, even if we lost the first set. Against Ni Xia (opponent Xia Lian Ni, LUX) it is always difficult to find a solution, but in the next set we could find a rhythm and the most difficult set was at 1-1 when they were leading 9-6, and then we changed something with the risk. No matter what, I would give somewhere there and se what would happen."

On what makes this achievement different for her in her career:
"Coming from the surgery, this is like a full bonus for me. Being in the final is an extra bonus. So I will just enjoy the match. And I think we will make a good match, even if we lose or win, we will just enjoy to play."
On making it to her first European championships doubles final:
"I have no words to describe what I am feeling now. I never thought that I could make it to the final in doubles but thanks to 'Eliza' (doubles partner Elizabeta Samara, ROU) we made it and I hope we can do it in the final too."
On what made them lose the semifinal:
”The key point was the third set. We were leading 1-0, then they came back to 1-1 and we were leading 8-2 in the third set. The key point was that we lost that set. Then in the fourth set they had better combinations and unfortunately we couldn’t make it."

On winning bronze:
”For us it means a lot. We came here and our goal was to get a medal and we got it so we are very happy.”
