On whether he and Christina Källberg (SWE) were surprised by Deni Kozul and Katarina Strazar (SLO):

"No, they’re a good doubles pair. Then I don’t think we reach a level that we can be happy with. Of course, it’s hard with the first match at a European championships. But we are obviously disappointed."

On his feelings:
"I’ts bad. We had hoped for much more. You’ve got to accept that for what it is and recharge for the men’s and women’s doubles and singles competition."

On whether Strazar played better than they had expected:
"We are at a European championships, there’s no-one you can just give the ball to. You can’t just play on one player, that doesn’t work at a European championships.
"Of course she played well, but I think she’s played well before.
"She is left-handed and safe, that is a good combo with a right-handed player."

On the future for the pair:
"There will be many more chances for us. I need to keep healthy, ’Stina’ (Källberg) will be playing well for many years to come."

On his hopes for the men's doubles, where he and partner Mattias Falck are world champions:
"Mattias and I want a European championships gold medal. We’ve got two silvers, it would’ve been nice with a gold too."

On being the favourites:
"We are world champions so we have to accept that we are the favourites, we’ll handle that. We have been good in doubles in almost a decade now so we are used to people having respect for us and wanting to beat us."
