Unit Reports

On having won his first match of the European Championships Munich 2022:
"It was nice since it turned out like this. It wouldn’t have been very nice if we’d lost this one. That would have been very sad.
"Then I’ve got no idea of what on earth we would have done in the four coming days. I would’ve had to stroll around and have a look at the Olympic Park or something. It would have been sad. So it is really nice to come away with a win here."

On the opponents:
"They put pressure on us throughout the whole game and stuck to their tactics.
"You need to always play well. As soon as we lower our level a bit they’re going to take that chance, which they did."

On starting his Munich 2022 campaign in a dramatic fashion, winning 3-2 against Toomas Libene (EST) and Airi Avameri (EST):
"You get a bit of pulse to the whole thing, that’s always nice."

On whether it is helpful to have got a preliminary round match, having only played one tournament with Linda Bergström (SWE) before, one year ago:
"Of course. It’s tough when you haven’t played that much together, so then it’s pretty nice to get to play a preliminary round match.
"That’s good for us, to get to play a little, feel the hall and the ball and all of that before playing the seeded pairs tomorrow. That’s always special. If we step it up a couple of notches, which I’m sure we will, then we’ll be dangerous."
On beating Toomas Libene (EST) and Airi Avameri (EST) 3-2 in a preliminary round thriller:
"It was hard to expect anything from the beginning. We had watched them playing singles matches but you could see that they had a good teamwork. They had a good tactic too, that they followed pretty well. Then we perhaps got a bit passive in the beginning and a little nervous too."

On playing with Europe's men's singles No.1 Truls Möregårdh with little preparation:
"We played one competition – the Czech Open – a year ago. So this is our second (tournament). But this year we haven’t played together at all until a couple of weeks ago. So we have only practised the past two weeks."
