Unit Reports

On being down 3-1, 7-3 against Samuel Kulczycki (POL) but coming back to win:
"I had seen that he had played well against lefties and he did, so it took a while to adjust to that. Even when he had won three sets I still felt that I could turn this around. I know what it’s like when you’re a young player, you can easily get a little stressed and start making mistakes."

On his shape:
"The past months haven't been easy. I broke two ribs and was out of training for three weeks, so I came here because it is in Munich and because I am the defending champion. I usually have a slow start to tournaments and then get better and better and I hope it will be the same case this time."

On the crowd at Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle:
"It is good if you play well. You have to get them with you. But this is what they like; when someone is down and then comes back.
"This is not how I planned it but that’s how it went."
