On reaching the quarterfinals:

"A quarterfinal in the European championships is obviously a big achievement. Nevertheless, the cherry on the top of the cake if I would get a medal here."

On facing Timo Boll in the quarterfinal:
"The legend Timo Boll has quite a few medals in the Euros already so it will be a very tough match for me tomorrow. But I will give my best and try to win it of course.”

On playing his doubles partner Benedikt Duda in the round of 16:
"It’s a pity that we have to play each other so early in the tournament but this is how it can be; he won every match and I won every match so far and then we face each other. That’s natural, unfortunately. It’s always tough to play him and as the scoreline was, he was very close every set but I am happy that I managed to win somehow."

On what made him come out winning:
"It was two or three points in every set. Every set was so close and I could have also lost the last set after I missed two match points, after that maybe the match would have turned. Then I had an edge ball so maybe luck was on my side today."
