On winning silver
"It was a super close race between Char (Charlotte Henshaw, GBR) and I. We didn't know who won, we just heard 'beep, beep'. We knew it was the two of us, but we didn't know which way round.

"That's exactly what we wanted. We wanted it to be close, and we wanted it to be exciting, and it's amazing that we can do that GB one-two again."

On her rivalry and friendship with Henshaw:
"I find it really cool that we can do it together.

"It's not just another teammate, it's a friend as well on the startline. We can always have a bit of chat and it's always really relaxed as well, which I quite like. We've got that every day in training as well."

On racing the va'a:
"The va'a takes a lot of steering to keep it going in a straight line, it's quite an awkward boat. There was definitely a bit of steering issues in that race."

On coming from the world championships:
"It's been quite hard. The day after we landed back in the UK I tested positive for Covid, which wasn't ideal and did knock me for six. Luckily I tested negative quite quickly, and then when we arrived here in Germany and the first session on the water we did some race pace, it totally wiped me out and I felt absolutely terrible.

"Woke up this morning, and I was like 'I'd rather feel terrible and be here racing than terrible at home watching the telly."
On winning gold after winning the recent world championships
"That's what's made it hard here, we're coming off the back of a world championships a fortnight ago. We went home, we got home last Sunday night really late, and then we flew out here five days later.

"We're all pretty tired physically and mentally, but really pleased to put on a great show out there. This is an amazing event and it deserves a good lot of racing, so I'm glad we managed to do that."

On again beating her teammate Hope Gordon (GBR):
"A lot closer this time. That's brilliant for us. This is a new Paralympic event, and we want to showcase it in a really good way. Hopefully myself and Hope can keep pushing the sport forward and this event forward until Paris 2024 (Paralympic Games) and hopefully we can both be there on the podium.

"I could feel her coming back at me in the last 100 and I was just thinking 'hold on, hold on'."

On bronze medallist Nataliia Lahutenko (UKR):
"It's wonderful to see her here after the disruption that the Ukrainian team have had, and the fact that they've been able to come and compete at the worlds and here, it's brilliant to have them. It'll be a real pleasure to share the podium with her."
On winning bronze
“It was very difficult for us to prepare for the competition because we haven’t been home for so many months. We want to thank for the French federation for the support and facilities.”
