On winning bronze jointly with Anja Osterman (SLO) |
---|
"Everyone saw I fell in. Before that I was trying to push myself over the finish line to try and get a better place. I don't know if it worked or not, but here I am standing here with a bronze medal. "I didn't have the balance to keep sitting in the boat, and then I just let everything go and fell in. That was a finish with giving everything I had." On her emotions: "I don't know what's happening, I'm just enjoying being back in the boat after 12 months of studying. "When you are there mentallly and you love what you do - I know everyone loves what they're doing - I just think I have an extra gear maybe." |
On winning silver |
"It was a very hard race and we were very close. "I enjoy paddling with these women. I was the little girl of the class." |
On winning bronze jointly with Emma Jørgensen (DEN) |
"When I went to the start block it was a backwind (tailwind) so the plan was to go from the start. Then I checked the flags and it was frontwind (headwind) and I was like 'damn it, I must change the race plan'. So immediately I changed it. "In the first 400 metres I went easy and then I pushed the last 100. I gave it my best and I thought it was enough for second or third. Then I came to the finish and I saw also Emma and I thought oh, maybe I'm fourth, maybe I'm third. Then they were changing it all the time until the very last moment. "I didn't know I was third until they told me to go and change. I was like 'yes, I'm third, we are two thirds'." On her season: "I really risked it all last season, I didn't care what happened. "I have a really good coach and programme, we're working so well together, medal after medal and we're so happy, even though today we were wishing for a bit more. I was not paddling how I should, but still I have a bronze medal." |
