On winning bronze |
---|
"It's an amazing sentiment. I wanted more than this - last year I'm European champion. Today I tried the same, and tried for the European record, but the strong wind off the left side for me (meant) I can't do more than this." On adding European bronze to world bronze: "It's a nice year, two international competitions, two bronze medals, it's fanastic." On the progression of paracanoe: "It's a very high level in paracanoe. All the paddlers are very close. Year after year you don't have the same athletes on the podium - the European champion is every year different, and the world champion is the same, the Paralympics the same." On his achievements: "Today I have 10 (international) medals. "It's fantastic. I want more, and I want to do better in the future. I do my job, and I hope to stay on the podium for as much time as I can. I'm old, close to 42 years, but the sentiment is fantastic and the group is amazing." |
On his emotions after winning gold |
"It was a big surprise. I wondered about maybe a medal, but not the gold medal." On the conditions: “The wind from the side was quite good for me, I really liked that kind of wind. This water is very special because it is a clearwater (lake) so, it helped me.” On his emotions: "At the start line my mind was so clear. I just paid attention to the line." |
On competing in multiple championships |
"The key to keep the strength doing this every three weeks is to set goals and to have fun. And once you have fun you’re able to reach your goals. That’s the secret." |
