Last Place Knock Out
On winning bronze
"I'm really happy, that was a tough race. For half the distance I wasn't in the lead, so that's why it was really tough.

"It's really important for me that I am here on the podium."
On winning silver
"At the start it was not too much, because the other racers are very fast, very strong. In the first lap I feel strong, and push very hard for two laps. Then I made the race.

"I'm happy for the silver medal. It's my first time in a championship for flat water, I was (previously doing) marathon and surf ski, and I have different medals from world championships and European champions. To have a medal in flat water, I'm very happy for this."

On the conditions:
"I practise surf ski, it's no problem for me. Not too much wind, not too much waves, it was perfect."
On winning gold
"I know I ned to go to the lead in the first part of the race, trying to push until the first corner, because we have a lot of good athletes in 5,000 - for some ones it is ther first race today, it is my second one, because I competed in the final of the K2 1,000.

"I came to fight for a medal and when I see we are three athletes alone I try to put another one out and control the rest of the race, and try to improve better and better speed to take the gold in the last sprint."

On the conditions:
"Today it was perfect.

"It's an outside sport, it's normal. Sometimes we have storms, sometimes we have snow, sometimes windy, cold days, warm days. But it's all sport. We need to improve trainings in different temperatures, different conditions. Today we have very good conditions with sun."

On the rest of the season:
"The sprint season is over. Now I want to do the marathon selective in Portugal in two weeks, because the world championship is in my town (Port Lima) in one month and a half.

"I want to do the marathon. I know it's crazy because I'm a sprinter, I don't have the very good profile to do marathon, but I want to go out of my security zone."
