On racing both the women's pair and eight |
---|
"We already did in Belgrade and Poznan (at the World Cups), so we already knew how it felt. But with this headwind it's a lot tougher. "It's nice because we have a big women's group and we all get to race together at the end of the day. We all have a very good vibe, and it's just very nice, really pushed everyone together." On the pair: "The first 1,000 metres were pretty good and then later on we kind of lost our rhythm. I was glad that we just could race through it and finish it off quite OK and we made it through without the rep (repechage)." On the eight: "It was a pretty tough race with Ireland, the girls just stuck to us and we really had to race to the finish, which was pretty cool to do." On training with the men's squad for the first time this year: "I'm very curious to see what we can do. Our main focus is of course the worlds (championships), so this is not the peak moment for us, but still we're here to do as best as we can. "Since this year we're training with the men and the women together, which causes for a very good atmosphere. We learn a lot from each other, we're rooting for each other, and I hope everyone will do well." |
