"It was our second race together, so I'd say a big step forward compared to yesterday, but still a lot of points to improve. "It was good fun, really enjoyable to be back in the 2k racing. I liked it, I like the fighting races. "We came here and we didn't have any idea where we stay at the moment. We only had one month of training together, so there's still a lot of potential in there. We have to come together more, we have to sharpen up the whole thing, know each other better. "Taking all together, the performance of today I take it as a positive one and I'm looking forward to building on that." On switching from sculling to sweep (with one oar) at Oxford University in the last year: "For the sweeping rowing it helps a lot when I had the chance to spend one year in the Oxford programme rowing in the eight; we also rowed a lot in fours and pairs. That helped me a lot to change from coming from sculling and changing into the sweeping rowing world. "There's still a lot of thngs to improve, there's a long way to go. "I was sculling for 14 years, and now I'm only sweeping in my second year or still finishing my first year. It's still rowing and the basics stay the same." |
