On winning silver

"I feel good, really good. It was a good race - long, but really good. The Greece (Antonios Papakonstantinou) do a good race, better than me. That's the reason why he take the gold.

"Next year I will try to do better."

On the race:
“It was really a tough race because of the wind, but it was really a long race.”

On winning gold

"I was a little bit anxious before the race because we were so close in the semis but I was happy I managed to do what I had to do to get the win."

On stepping up from winning the under-23 world championships last year:
"It was tough. The field was more close together, everyone was very fast, but I liked it. It was nice winning in my first year as a senior."

On when he thought he could win:
"After the first race I thought that I could do it, but as always it is racing, so anything can happen. I had that in the back of my mind, but all in all I was OK with the first race, it was easier than the rest. Then I just wanted to be in front the whole time."

On winning bronze

“I know the two guys (Antonios Papakonstantinou, GRE, Gabriel Soares, ITA) and that they will be strong, I tried to hold on as long as I could.”
