On the race:
"We have done everything according to our plan - start fast and try to work on the middle. For our type of training we have a very strong centre part, so that was our goal to get the distance there, and don't bring the Germans to the sprint."

On getting an oar stuck in the middle of the race:
"We had a little bit of an accident with the oars in the middle, due to a little bit of wind. But the stroke guy (Patrick Rocek, ITA) was keeping cool and he got the oars back and we went again.

"Luckily the Germans were already at their top speed so they were not able to reach us."

On their race:
"We knew that Germany was a fast boat so we knew that we had to start very hard and push all the time for today."
