On winning gold:

“It was an exciting, and properly tough final. It’s simply madness, the public was superb, this is really something very special.”

On what she did with her medal:

“I kept the championships jersey and I have firstly put the medal around my boyfriend’s neck. I’m incredibly grateful that he’s here.

On the tough competition:

“It was not an easy route to come here, and it was not an easy competition for me either. It’s never easy, but with me it was already tough from the start. In the last kilometre I could only struggle to keep the last wheel and the girls kept accelerating. My head said that I couldn’t keep it up anymore, but we are going home with the best time of the tournament. That’s outstanding.”

On winning silver

"It was a really exciting race, we are super happy. I am really happy to be back at my level and my numbers.

"For me this is above all the great emotion, to be in such a quartet is a crazy emotion. Surely this will give me a lot of energy to try to get to Paris (2024 Olympic Games) as well as possible."

On the silver medal:
"It has great value, certainly I don't deny that getting gold would really have been the centre of a great dream. We are content with this silver and look forward to the next races."
