Alistair Fielding (GBR)

On winning bronze early in his career:
"It's a good start. Both me and Ham (Hamish Turnbull, GBR) are quite new to the team, in regards of stepping up to these major comps, so to kind of put our marker down early on, it's a good start, you can't complain."

On the team:
"We're trying to build each other up because we're a brand-new team, and pretty inexperienced at riding together. We've been thrown in at the sticky end, we've been messing around, each riding in different positions. You need to be brutally honest with each other what's working and what's not, and in the end we've ended up with a really nice composition for this event.

"You've just got to be honest. Sometimes it can just escalate. If someone's doing this one thing that's making it really tough for you to produce your lap, then it just compounds and compounds and gets worse."

On being on the road to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games:
"There's not too many of us on the squad at the moment, so we're all pushing each other, we've got a really good shout in a few years' time. We've just got to keep working hard and enjoying the pay-off."
