On their silver medal race:
“It [the race] was pretty hard. It is a pretty different feeling riding on a 200m than a 250m track. It was an experience and a challenge. It was good."

On riding a 200m instead of the usual 250m track:

“We do more laps [on this track]. It is a bit harder to get the power out in the corners. The whole experience was pretty much different. You were more in the corners than the straights. It was harder technically to do the switches and all that. It was pretty hard to find a good rhythm and pace for this race. But I think we managed it quite well after two days of training.”

On if the first round race versus Italy affected their performance in the final:

“Against Italy we did one of the best races we have ever done. I think we maybe pushed Italy a bit and at some point they kind off exploded. And we could benefit from that and get the slipstream.

“No (I don’t think the race versus Italy affected our performance), We used a little bit less power than the French [in the last race]. They raced a whole race when we were just 3km in the race. We actually benefited from that.

“The French team is just very strong and we are still very young. But it seems like we are one a good direction and we are getting closer to them.”
On winning gold
Valentin Tabellion (FRA)

On whether they always thought they could win:
"The word is really confidence. We take confidence from the fact that we have a really strong group. We've formed a real core. Each of us trusts each other, and we know that we've all worked hard. We know that the three riders who will finish know the job they have to do.

"We never doubt. We have confidence in each other, in our partners and the work we've done. We know that in these moments we'll all be there.

"We're a real team, and I'm not only talking about the guys, I'm talking about the girls as well. We've all known the girls a long time and we've created strong links. We support each other. It's a real strength to have a collective like that.

"We support each other, whether it's going more or less well. It's a real strength of the French team."

Thomas Denis (FRA)

On having to chase Denmark down:
"We were a bit worried because we knew we set off faster than this morning. Steven (Henry, coach) said 'go go go'. Then we knew they (Denmark) had bluffed and that we had it."
