On winning bronze
"It was quite an unusual race.

"We had the two Germans and we weren't quite sure what they were doing at the start. I was in a battle with them for a long time. Séb (Vigier, FRA), with the form he was in today, he passed quickly, and behind him one by one we raced our own races."

On gold medallist Sébastien Vigier (FRA):
"It doesn't surprise me (that he won). I've known him too long. We started cycling together in the same year.

"I knew what he was capable of. I'm really happy for him, I'm really happy for the team too."

On the next steps:
"Tomorrow we'll go home and back to training, because we have the French championships next week. After that I'll have a few days off and then we'll prepare for the world championships."
On if the start position on the track is a lottery on this (200m) track:
“It certainly is, but I think the track is always good if you draw a spot up front. More at the back life is tougher. The sprints were very fast. As soon as the derny goes out, it better to be up front.”

On a possible agreement with teammate Marc Jurczyk:

“We did not have any agreements. For us as a country it’s good to have to riders in the final, but everyone wants to set a good result for himself too. Especially in Keirin, agreements don’t work, because you never know what the others do.

“Our national manager told us: everyone has the same chance, so I don’t give you any tactical advise. Ride for yourself and ride fair, don’t take it out on each other and see where it gets you.”

On winning gold, his third medal of the championships
"I don't feel bad. I did a lot before the championships - lots of cycling, some strength work - and I feel really good. I've recovered well each day despite the effort. It's great."

On his emotions before the final:
"For the final I was super stressed, because I really wanted this title.

"I felt strong, I felt like it would be a failure if I didn't make the most of the form I'm in."

On France's strategies for recovery:
"It's changed a lot recently. I can't tell you exactly what we do, but we're taking recovery more seriously. It's working well, and in training too we're putting more emphasis on it.

"You feel all the French riders have got faster and recovered well, we're strong."

On the competition:
"In the semifinals I was really scared, I felt all my competitors were waiting for me to make a move. They were on my wheel, they were blocking me."

On the French team:
"It's clear that I've come of age, but there are plenty of young riders coming up, some who are the same age as me, some who are even younger.

"We've got a young team. It's a team with lots of potential and we can progress. We need to stay on track, because we're not yet the best but we can be."
