On reaching the gold medal match

On fighting through the second set:
“I lost my patience a bit especially when I couldn’t use my blocking an efficient as before. But Nina calmed me down again.”

On their gold medal match:
“I think the match today was a bit harder because a lot of people expected us to win but tomorrow I think it’s balanced. The Latvians are really good team and now it’s more about having fun than pressure. When you are in the final already you shouldn’t feel pressure anymore.

“The final was definitely our goal. There was a lot of pressure to win the game, and Spain are playing well, but it made it really fun to play here, especially with that crowd.”

“You never expect that, but we played 10 solid matches. It is because we are playing very consistently. We don’t give our opponents opportunities to score easy points and that is why it is easier to control the game.”
