On their performance:
“We did a good job, even though I tested the Norwegian block a bit too often. We kept on fighting.”

On their feelings before the match:
“Clemens said ‘they are only human as well’. We had a pretty precise plan on how to tackle them, especially during the middle of the second set this worked out, but we should have put more pressure on them with our serves.”

“It’s no shame losing against these two. They’ve become Olympic Champions last year and European champions for the past four years for a reason.”

On serving to Nils EHLERS (GER):
“We have seen many other teams winning against this team when serving to Nils and we thought my block would be a hard obstacle for them to get past. He likes to go high, and I can be pretty high in the block, and I thought maybe I would be able to take him down and I did a couple of times today as that was the plan.”

On the pressure of being four-time European champions:
“We enjoy it. We are kind of used to playing with pressure. Pressure is a good thing because we have delivered in the past. We always expect a good game from ourselves and that’s actually the most important thing.”

Christian SØRUM (NOR)

On whether it’s been easy so far:
“No for sure no. It’s really tough and the game is really tight for so long and even though it’s 21:15 or so it feels so close. We managed to get more points in the end and that’s the main difference but during the game it was really tough.”

On playing David ÅHMAN and Jonatan HELLVIG (SWE) in the semifinals:
“It’s always tough to play Sweden. It was a tough game in the pool, and they are playing different style volleyball, so we have to prepare for this.”
