Bronze 6.80
I am so happy! It had been six years since I have been on the podium, and it's hard to convince yourself every single time that you need to come back there when you keep not making the podium. My goal for this year was to make the podium at all 3 chmajor Champs, and I came into this having done exactly zero times. So, it knocks your confidence and your start thinking that I haven't got it anymore - but, I managed to pull back my self believe. In that final round, I said to myself that you are good enough to be on that podium. I figured it out - I'm so happy, there is no way to put it, I am so happy. I have many words. This season, I just proved to myself that for years and years I had to believe that I was good enough to be on that podium. I've continuously not done yet for myself, so I had to tell myself do not leave here without a medal - you are good enough. I did it last week, I jumped long enough to be on the podium. So, let the crowd carry it, it's a great crowd out here. All the German people in here who believe in me, I believe in me, stick your foot down, so I did. Incredible atmosphere here. Berlin four years ago was amazing, so I already knew that Munich was going to be great, top notch. I like coming to the German meets, because the German crowd knows how to support the field events - and you don't get that evrywhere.
Silver 7.03
I am so relieved that I can be here and compete. And I was able to do such a good competition despite my covid infection one week ago. It turned out I was fit. At some attempts, I was a bit too far from the board. I definitely won a silver medal and did not lose the gold medal. The level of this competition was high with Vuleta achieving 7.06m, she did a great competition. It was a really good competition, yet, a hard one. I had to fight. The crowd was on fire, I loved it. So many came here to celebrate athletics. It was beautiful to feel them behind me, I felt such much support. It was fun to jump here today. I am also happy for the other athletes, they were able to experience such an overwhelming atmosphere with their home crowd. I do not know if and how I will celebrate because I am still recovering. This medal means a lot to me, I come from a difficult week and maybe tonight I missed some luck. Thank you, Munich.
Gold 7.06 =SB
After the Eugene where I was chasing the medal, I came here with a lot of focus. I wasn't really bothered by my competitors. This was really fantastic, everybody where cheering for everybody which I really enjoyed. This was one of the strongest and one of the most beautiful competition in my career. Usually I love the rain so the rain wasn't a problem for me at all today. If I could have wished for the rain it would be on this championships. The important was just not to get injured. It was a really beautiful competition, I enjoyed it with all the girls. This season I have won World indoors and now European outdoors, the only one missing was the medal from Eugene. The jump over there would be a good one for the medal but it was a slighty fault. But I know how those kind of falls influence on me so I just needed to wait those three weeks to jump far again. It even wasn't an option to come here and not to win, even it's Milaika's homesoil. I will have a chance to do the Triple Jump at the Diamond Leage and then the Diamond League finals in the Long Jump. My big wish is to get ready during the winter only for the Triple Jump and to jump 15 m. That would satisfied me the most.
