The first day was quite good - not like really really good but OK. I think the track is not as fast as in Eugene or in Tokyo. The shot put - I am not really happy about it. I felt like in warm-up it was better than in the competition. In the high jump, it was just not my PB but 186 was so close. There is still one day left so I need to get some sleep and we are ready for the day 2. I like both days, I do not have any preferences. |

It is good to be back, that in itself makes me very happy, but now that I am here, of course I want to do well. There is no doubt that I haven't arrived here in top form because I injured myself back in March, and didn't get back to training until June. I only had two months to prepare, and although my injury didn't come back, I still felt other aches and pains that I had to deal with. This is a combined event, and only one event out of four went according to plan. I am hoping tomorrow it will be a better day, and needless to say that I am really looking forward to the Long Jump. In the future, I would like to have a go at both the combined events and the Long Jump alone, but, for now, I am not yet ready to let go of the Heptathlon - I still have a lot that I want to get from it. |
