Winner 17.36 Q |

[About another easy qualification round] I always face the qualifying rounds in a relaxed way, I know I am in very good shape, and my only goal today was to get the big Q to the final - it was easy and relaxed. Up until now, I have never experienced not qualifying for for the final - especially, because I always manage to reach the qualifing marks during my training sessions. So, when I come out here during the real competition, I already have that extra confidence that enables me to jumo further that the qualifying mark. [About recognising is natural talent] I don't really see it like others do . I feel I still make many mistakes - although people have the impression that everything is perfect. When I watch back videos of my competitions, I always notice some mistakes. My dad [and coach] is even more demanding and has very high standards - when we watch those videos, he will identify at least 4 or 5 mistakes. I dont't think I have ever did a good jump - in his eyes - but we really get along well. Apart from being my father, he is also a very good friend to me. |
Second 16.96 Q |
I am very satisfied although the conditions were really tough. The wind was hard to manage, it came from all directions. But it is a questions of mental preparation to handle this. You have to stay lucid and calm. The technical handling has to be learnt before, during the training. But at the competition all is decided mentally. I checked the weather conditions for the final and there should be no wind, let's hope so. In the final I want to give my best and then anything is possible. Physically I am strong, everything is in place. I also felt that at the first attempt which was default. |
