I was feeling strong, and I knew I could fight for a place on that podium - so, I decided to go for it, and, in the end, I come away with a gold medal at these European Championships. I am very pleased with it. I was expecting a much slower race, but it wasn't so, I just went with it, and decided to control it from the start. When I dediced to take the lead, I knew I had to give it my all, because towards the end of the race, that's when you have less energy, so I need to get this right. This is a magnificent stadium, a former stage for the Olympics and the European Championships - the crowd here also helped me to go out fast and run this amazing race. I already have two golds, but I want to keep racing, but in the meantime, I want to celebrate with my coach. |

I came here to get one of these medals. Going from round to round, I saw there is a good chance to win it so I was ready to be part of this championships.
I knew it from the semifinals that it was going to be probably hard. I came out with a season best and a silver so I am glad. Now two more races but it has already been a good season for me.
I was just ready to race and did not care too much about the splits, it was more about the position in the race to get medals. This is really nice to get a medal from every championships this season.
I was very close to the gold and I woud be very glad to get that but still I am pretty happy with the silver. I was not quite close enough in the last straight and it is tough when you are not that close with a strong opponents. I did not manage to stay strong enough to pass over Garcia. This is a tough race whith a lots of tactics. The stadium is great with lots of cheering and I was grateful it was not rainy today. |

When Garcia and Wightman made a move on the last 200m I tried to move with them. And I am glad I managed to. But with the 1500m world champion Wightman and strong Garcia I was not able to overtake them on the inside lane, they were too strong and I did not a good rest tonight. So I am really pleased to get the bronze medal. I cannot ask for more. Eight years ago I won a gold medal at European championships, eight years is a long time in athletics and I have had a good year this year. I will carry on and am looking forward to the worlds, try to collect points on the world list to make it to Budapest. I am back after a hard time, it has been a long walk. |
