On taking silver in the individual All-Around final
"It (this medal) means so much to me. It's an absolute dream come true. To win an all-around European medal has been a major target of mine so I'm asbolutely over te moon. For me to come away with silver.. I definitely couldn't ask for more than that."
On taking a silver at the European Championships after narrowly missing out on a All-Around medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (where she finished fourth): "Commonwealths got me going for Europeans. For me to come fourth there meant I wanted to do even better today. I guess I just did that (laughs).
"My competition wasn't perfect, but I'm proud of the way I held my nerve."
On going into the last apparatus, the floor, after a mistake on beam (the penultimate apparatus): "That beam dismount went a bit dodgy, but it happens. I was still really happy with the score I got. I put it behind me because I had a feeling based on where I was in the scorings that there was a possibility for a medal. I thought I need to do the best floor I could ever do and I think I did that. What more can I ask for?"
On the team result (they finished second behind Italy in qualifications and qualified for Saturday's team final): "There are lots of things to improve on, but I am super proud of our team. It's our second major (competition) back in this (Olympic) cycle. So I couldn't be more proud of them."
On taking bronze in the individual All-Around final
"My performance on bars and beam were not so good, but finally, the total score was good enough. This medal means a lot to me, I am very happy with it.
On her final routine, on the uneven bars, where she counted a fall: "After the fall I had on uneven bars I thought it was over for me (in the All-Around rankings), but I fought until the end and tried to do the best I could in the rest of my routine. It eventually still was enough to medal."
On Italy finishing first in the team qualifications, having them qualify for Saturday's team final: "Our individual scores were so good, which means that the team could be OK for the finals. I am sure we are able to take the gold in the team event. Italy is the best (laughs)."
"When I entered the competition I knew that I could do a great job today. Before my bars routine I understood that it was possible for me to take the gold medal so I got a little nervous but I stayed strong and focused because I really wanted this medal. I think the first place is the right position for me in this competition."
"I'm proud to receive this medal for Italy and to follow the success of my role models like Vanessa Ferrari (All-Around Gold medalist at the European Championships in 2007)."
On the strong performance of the Italian team:
"We showed a great competition today but we want to be even stronger in the Team-Final on saturday. After our third place in Stuttgart (2019 world championships) we really want this gold medal."
On where her leading All-Around score after subdivision 1 could lead her with three more subdivisions to go: "It's difficult to tell right now. We competed in the first subdivision and there are a lot more gymnasts still to compete. I think the position I'm in at the moment is quite good, though."
On her main focus for today's competition: "My main focus was the team competition. Of course I also wanted to do well individually as well and maybe get into some finals. We did quite well as a team and I hope it will be enough to qualify for Saturday's team final. Individually, I'm currently in first position on both uneven bars and floor exercise, but I will have to wait and see where I end up and if I qualify after all subdivisions are over."
On today's competition (Germany is leading after the first of four subdivisons): "It's waiting time for us right now (laughs). Even though we don't really want to wait, we will have to. I think together we did a great job. There was a great atmosphere and it really was a team experience for us."
On her feelings after sticking her uneven bars dismount, the last apparatus for the Germans: "Didn't you see and hear that (laughs)? I felt super great and relieved. I just a really short moment that you have when you land and knowing that you did it. In that second I felt really great.
"Especially because in the routine I realized there was one of the flight elements (jeager) where I was really far away from the bar, so I was super happy that I actually did it. Sometimes when you just grip the bar with your fingertips it becomes a bit 'criminal', but in my case I felt that it would work out. So I tried to stay calm and that worked."
On Munich 2022 being her last competition: "To be honest, I wouldn't say I was nervous, but I felt the tension. I really wanted to enjoy the competition and it got better throughout. Balance beam didn't go super well and floor exercise wasn't as good as it could be, but the other apparatuses were really good. In the end I am super happy that we performed well as a team and that I had the chance to be here with this great team.
"I knew when I announced the end of my career there would be a lot of tension on me during the event. But I really just try to enjoy the experience and try to capture this moment. There will be enough time to relive my career after this competition. I want to enjoy it especially since it's a competition at home."
On Germany's team competition, currently leading after 1 of 4 subdivisions: "There were a few mistakes and of course not everybody is a 1000% satisfied with what they showed today but I think that especially as a team we presented ourselves in a great way and the chances a high that we will reach the final which is great."
On her own performance: "I started the competition quite late, on the third apparatus, so I could cheer for the team and help them out in the beginning. When I started on vault then I was still relaxed, towards bars I felt a little bit more nervous. But to then start into the competition with a score of 14 was really nice and that Kim Bui and I both have a 14.200 on bars – that's definitely a statement."
On Munich 2022: "What we definitely noticed was that the opening yesterday was completely overcrowded, which for the organizers and the police wasn't that nice but we kind of enjoyed it because it showed that these are the European Championships and that the people are arriving in crowds so it can't be any better for our sports."
On the reason why she decided to only compete uneven bars at Munich 2022, whereas she normally competes in the All-Around: "I only competed on uneven bars because I injured my ankle in March and I am still recovering from it now. Ever since the beginning of the season my body didn't work the way I wanted it to and for this reason I have decided to just focus on bars for now."
On her score of 11.633 points after falling off the apparatus, the event she had made the finals on last year:
"Because of the injury and my body not working the way I wanted, the preparation for this competition wasn't great. Although I was getting a bit better in training, today's routine didn't go as well as I would have wanted it to. It is what it is."
On team Ireland's performance in the team event (sitting in eighth position after two out of four subdivisions: "I’m happy with the team results, we definitely could have done better but it was great to bring a team together and be on international stage again, we really supported each other, too. For me personally, bars was a little off but I finished strong on vault so I’m happy about that and I think I did well."
On her floor routine, where she stood out with music and expression: "I chose the music and edited it myself and then I had a choreographer to help me with the dance."
On her senior debut and her second place in the All-Around after three of four subdivisions:
"First of all, the focus was on the team competition. I am happy because we have a perfect team, we're united. But we had some problems, some falls."
"Individually, I tried to focus on what I trained and on what I have to do. I think I have done good, although I think I can do better. I hope to get some finals and do better execution there and hope I get some medals."
On her confidence out on the field of play: "I don't know how I look, but I feel the emotion (of nerves). I tried to calm down and focus on what I had to do. In my mind every competition is the same and I am trying not to compare competitions."
