Men's Rings

On taking bronze:
"I am super happy. Throughout the whole championships I felt really good on rings, really confident. I just needed to make some adjustments on the dismount.

"It really worked today, I managed to stick the dismount. I was just over the moon, it was one of the cleanest routines I've done in a long time. Thank you to my coaches to get me in such good shape for that. I am really happy to come away with a bronze."

"As soon as I woke up today I felt good, the mindset was right. I knew I was going to smash it on rings."

On the rings final:
"I wasn't watching. I decided not to watch any other routines. I didn't see any routines, didn't know any scores.

"I just focused on my own routine and what I had to do.

On finishing seventh on vault:
"I’m a little disappointed with my second vault. I'm gutted about it. But I just need to believe in myself more on vault.

"Especially that second vault is new, it's one of the hardest vaults in the world. I got to believe in myself more and when I do, I will be on the podium. It's coming together. It's just one of those things, I will learn from it for sure."
On winning his sixth European title:
"I feel great for many reasons. First of all, I am coming back from a shoulder surgery. I had some doubts if I would be ready to compete here. But I made it, I used my experience and self-confidence as much as I could, because I wasn't 100% ready.

"But I have worked on a nice form, a nice routine. I will build it towards the next events.

"I will build upon this routine every year and make it better in execution and higher in difficulty. Hopefully I can take it to 6.3 (difficulty score) next year, then to 6.4 and hopefully at the Olympics to 6.5. It's a smart routine and I am going to work on it until it's perfect."

On silver medallist Adem ASIL (TUR) only finishing 0.100 behind him:

"I have competed in many finals and there were even closer ones, but it was tight. I need to work on my routine, improve some small things. It was a difficult time for me, very little time of recovery, so i’m happy things ended with a gold medal."

On his two daughters and his wife Vasiliki Millousi (GRE, former gymnast) watching him from the stands at Munich 2022:

"I am very grateful and happy because my two baby girls are here in the arena and watched me."

"The day after Tokyo (Olympics, where he won bronze), I said I would now just enjoy gymnastics. I do gymnastics for me, for my family and for my babies. The whole motivation, the whole recovery and the whole road to this competition was motivated through my family."

"They were the biggest part of my road to Munich. I dedicate the medal to my family, to my two baby girls."
On taking silver after a bronze in the team and all-around event:
"I finally changed the color of my medal today (laughs).

"I'm very happy actually. It's been a long, hard year for me. Especially on rings. Because I'm a strong gymnast on rings, but to show it to the people, to the judges that I'm really strong always takes time.

"It took a lot of time to get to this level. I am very proud of myself, proud of my country.

"This medal is also for my friend Ibrahim (COLAK (TUR), the 2019 world champion on rings). He is not here, I know he's injured. This medal is for him, because we always train together and he always helps me, especially on rings. I hope he recovers quickly and joins us in the next competition."

On being close to gold (0.100 behind Eleftherios Petrounias from Greece):
"He is the lord of the rings. He's the (2016) Olympic champion also.

"I'm very happy to compete with him and I'm very glad I could stress him a little bit. But he's good, he's very strong. I am very happy for him."

On what's next for him:
"Actually I'm taking a break, but then the next months I will prepare for the World Championships (in Liverpool, GBR)."
